Hi Friends!

As many of you know, the last couple summers I've been working as a horse wrangler at River Valley Ranch in Maryland. And although that is my favorite place to be and I've grown and learned so much there, I've decided to leverage one of my last free summers in a different way this summer.

Throughout my (almost) 3 years being a student at High Point University, I've been involved with Mercy Hill Church in Greensboro NC. I've seen many members of my community group as well as other college students decide to do what's called "City Project" over the summers, and all come out of it telling what an incredible experience it was. After learning about what the summer looks like and spending a few months thinking and praying over it, I finally went ahead and put in an application. I just kept asking myself “Why not”? I will probably never have entire summers like this free again. Why not leverage one in order to reach the gospel to the nations, grow in my affections for Christ, and get to know God at a deeper level?

So, what exactly is City Project? City Project is an eight-week discipleship opportunity for college students to be trained to grow deeper as a disciple of Christ and learn to make disciples who make disciples. I will first be traveling to New York City for one week to engage Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists with the gospel. Then for the next several weeks I will be in Greensboro receiving practical theological and ministry training by pastors at Mercy Hill. (How cool is that!?) During that time I will also be learning how to effectively share the gospel and serve the city of Greensboro through internships with local ministries and members of Mercy Hill Staff. The last two weeks of the summer I will travel abroad to serve alongside Mercy Hill Church Planters in another country!

I believe that Jesus came and lived the life that I could not live, died the death I deserved, and rose from the dead, defeating death and sin. Because I have been forgiven, loved, and shown endless mercy and grace, I want to obey what He asks me to do! So although this summer will be probably be challenging and uncomfortable, I am so excited to better understand what it means to live every aspect of my life for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I would love for you to partner with me in prayer, praying for my team and me leading up to and throughout the summer. And if you are willing and able to do so, financially, because in order to make this summer possible I need to raise $4800. I hope that you’ll prayerfully consider investing in me as I invest in others this summer!
