Hello! I'm Lizzy Shaw and you've found my mission trip fundraising page! I am so glad you have decided to check it out! I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and I am graduating in May with a degree in Communication Studies. I have a part time job waitressing in my hometown of King, where I live with my family. I attend Quaker Gap Baptist Church on Sunday mornings in King, and Mercy Hill's 5 o'clock service since last fall. I am involved in Mercy Hill's community groups, which is where I heard about City Project! A friend told me about her experience going last year and a desire ignited in my heart! I have always had a passion for missions and am so excited to serve again!

I prayed that the Lord would allow me the opportunity to serve Him through this trip and now here we are, the end of support raising! I am asking if you would partner in prayer for me, the team and those we will be serving and sharing the gospel with. I need to raise $4,800 to be able to serve the Lord faithfully. I am asking my friends, family and the body of Christ to partner with me in raising this amount. If you could give any amount that you feel led to give, you will help me reach my goal and enable our team to reach more people with the gospel.

I thank God for the awesome chance to continue to step out in faith and go boldly to the nations with the Gospel! I will be part of an 8-week long gospel mission from May 30th to July 31st called City Project! We will be going to Queens, NY for one week to share the gospel with Global Gates ministry in communities of different faiths. Then we will return to Greensboro for 5 weeks. I will be staying with a host family from Mercy Hill. We will be participating in discipleship training and study in the mornings, then interning with a community ministry in the afternoons. After that we will travel internationally to share the gospel for 2 weeks. I will be going to Peru to teach english and share the gospel! I am so ready to go and serve with the gifts God has given us.

Jesus left His throne in heaven and came down to earth as a mortal human, He lived a perfect life free of sin, then took our punishment on the cross, dying in our place. Then on the third day, He rose to life! In Matthew 28:18 He gave the disciples a commission to go and make disciples of every nation after He had risen from the dead, before He ascended to the father. I am one of those disciples and I have been told to go to the nations and to make disciples of all peoples! That includes at home and abroad! I am so excited to begin this journey that will push me, grow me, and allow me to do just that, alongside other believers my age! Thank you for your generosity and prayerful support of me and our desire to follow Jesus in word and in deed.
