Hey y'all!

I'm Candace Robinson, a junior nursing major at Winston-Salem State University. Throughout my time here in college, the Lord has been showing me the beauty and life-changing power of the gospel. The message of the gospel, shortly put "Jesus in my place" is not just for me, but for every neighborhood and every nation. God has been faithful on the campus of WSSU! I've had the pleasure of watching the Lord bring a few girls in my community from death to life in Christ, and I long to see that 100 times more.

As Christians, we believe that we who follow Christ have been called to play apart in His mission locally, nationally, and internationally. This summer I have an opportunity to take part in this mission through an 8-week leadership development program, called City Project, with my local church, Mercy Hill. The first week of City Project is spent in New York City, where I will engage Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists with the gospel. New York City is a place where the nations have strategically gathered, and I will get to speak with people who may have never heard the name of Jesus otherwise. The middle four weeks will be spent in Greensboro. During that time, I will be taking theological classes, working an internship, and serving at Mercy Hill Church, among many other things. Lastly, I will go abroad for the final two weeks of City Project. In those two weeks, I will serve alongside full-time missionaries who are working in another country to see Jesus praised there.

I envision this summer changing my life and the lives of many other people as I immerse myself in service, learn to love and see people as the Father does, and put myself in uncomfortable situations for the sake of the good news going forth. I’m excited about learning more about God and the mission this summer, and I would love for you to be apart of God's mission as you partner with me. There are three big ways you can support me as I get ready for the summer. First, you can be praying for me. We know that unless God decides to move, it really doesn't matter what we do. Please pray that God would move in my heart, that I would grow during the summer, and that he would save people locally, nationally, and internationally. Secondly, I ask for your financial partnership this summer. In order to participate in this summer experience I must raise $4,800 by Monday, May 21st, to cover the cost of expenses. I am asking people to jump on with me at either $100, $200, or $300. If you are unable to give one of the listed amounts, I would greatly appreciate any support that the Lord leads you to give. Lastly, I also could use your partnership in being an advocate for me. If you know anyone who may be interested in partnering with me in any way, please let me know. I would love to reach out and connect with them.
