My name is Tony Ross and I am a covenant member at Mercy Hill Church in Greensboro, NC. I currently serve as a Shepherding Elder and lead a community group with my wife Tina. Tina and I have been married for 6 years and reside in High Point, NC where we have been given the incredible privilege of raising two bambinas, Abigail and Lauren.
In September of 2018, I have the opportunity to travel to Southeast Asia where our team will be supporting the work of field and national partners who are church planting among unreached peoples. This particular trip will include training national believers in leadership as well as engaging the unreached through personal evangelism.
In Matthew 28 following the Passion and Resurrection, Jesus gives his followers a mission. He says "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
It’s here that we see that the God of the Bible is a missionary God who sets an example for us. He does not sit idly on the sidelines. Rather, God enters into humanity on a mission trip of his own, to save and redeem our lives for his glory.
Jesus calls us as his followers to His example. We are to go into the world and tell people of His beautiful Gospel for the purpose of bringing them into his kingdom.
This is the goal of our trip to Southeast Asia. To further the work of our partners, to teach the Bible and speak of the good news of the Gospel.
