Hello,

My name is Christy Chang. I am a senior, International Business Major at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In the spring of 2017, I had the opportunity to study abroad for 4 1/2 months. While being away from home, family, friends, and church community, I was able to see how broken our world is. Coming back home, it was not the same as when I left.

A year ago while I was in Seoul, I met a wonderful sister who gave me this book to read and I felt convictions and it was eye-opening for me to see the world that I ignored. His creation is beautiful but it is broken. I forgot that it is, and that how great would it be if I can go share the love that I have been blessed with. A love that is unfailing and never gives up on me. No matter how messed up or how many mistakes I have made, He still loves me. It doesn’t matter how others define me- because in His eyes He’s already saying “my child”. I realize my heart should be breaking because not many know this love I discovered. And it’s free. My heart cries for the places that need to hear the great news, the gospel. Thanks to Mercy Hill, a church that I have been attending for four years while in college, I am ecstatic to say that this summer I will have the opportunity to be a part of City Project!

City Project is an eight-week discipleship opportunity for college students. I will have the chance to be immersed in the local church and cities around the globe. With City Project, I will be able to go to New York for one week and share the gospel with Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists. In Greensboro, I will be receiving practical, theological and ministry training by pastors at Mercy Hill for several weeks. During this time, I will learn how to effectively share the Gospel through internships with local ministries and members of the Mercy Hill staff. For my last two weeks of the summer, I will be traveling abroad to serve in an international context alongside Summit Church Planters. Through City Project, I will have the opportunity to explore the mission of God, develop a heart and mind for God, and a better understanding of what it means to leverage one's entire life for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Through City Project, I am having the opportunity to go to South Asia this summer! It is one of the areas that I truly want to witness with my own eyes. I want to let it sink in my heart and see the beauty and brokenness of this place. I want His heart and to understand more of why He says “Go and make disciples” (whether in the future it is to be here or abroad).

With that said, I am excited about this opportunity and how my summer will unfold, but I cannot do this alone. I would truly appreciate it if you can support and join this awesome journey with me! This is not me alone and I find it so awesome that I am asked to ask people to join this journey with me. It’s not about you or myself but together we are used for His glory to spread the love in a place that needs it. For all of this to actually happen, I need your support to help me raise $5,000 by April 21st, 2018. It would be great to have you be a part of this exciting journey that God is calling me to.

In fact, I believe the He is calling all of us, would you be willing to give a one-time donation of $25, $100, or however you feel like God is calling you to give? I hope that with whatever you may give or through prayers, God will use it to prosper the gospel. I am someone He may send to share the word, but it is your help that will allow it to happen.
